Privacy policy

This policy explains how Foundry Accountants (“we”, “us”) collects and uses personal information when you use this website or contact us. We are the data controller for that information.

What we collect

• When you send an enquiry: your name, email address, and, if you give them, your phone number, business name, the service you're interested in and your message.
• When you phone or email us: the details you choose to share.
• When you become a client: the information we need to provide our services and to meet our legal obligations, including identity checks.

The tax calculator runs entirely in your browser. The figures you enter are not sent to us or stored anywhere.

How we use it, and our lawful basis

• To reply to your enquiry and arrange a consultation — our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us, or steps you've asked us to take before entering a contract.
• To provide our services once you're a client — performance of our contract with you.
• To meet legal and regulatory obligations, including anti-money-laundering checks and record keeping — legal obligation.

We don't sell your information, and we don't use it for marketing without your consent.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of trusted providers to run this website and our business:

• Our website hosting and enquiry-form provider, which runs on UK servers.
• Cloudflare, which routes enquiry emails to our inbox.
• Our accounting and practice-management software providers, for clients.
• HMRC, Companies House and other authorities, where the law or your instructions require it.

If you choose to show the map on our contact page, Google receives information such as your IP address. Our Google reviews are displayed using Trustindex. See our cookie policy for more.

How long we keep it

• Enquiries that don't lead to working together: up to 12 months.
• Client records: for as long as we act for you, then at least five years afterwards, as the Money Laundering Regulations require, and for as long as tax law needs records to be kept.

Your rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of your personal information, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to data portability. To use any of these rights, email hello@foundryaccountants.co.uk or call 01253 278 808.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
