Bookkeeping
Tidy, up-to-date books without the admin
Good bookkeeping is the foundation of everything else — accurate tax returns, sensible decisions and no nasty surprises. But it's also the job most business owners put off.
We keep your records in cloud software, reconciled and up to date, so you always know where you stand. And if you've fallen behind, we'll get you caught up.

Why it matters
Good records make everything else easier
When your books are current, your accounts and tax returns are quicker and more accurate, and you can see how the business is actually doing — not how it was doing a year ago.
We work in cloud software, so you can log in and see your figures at any time. And because we also prepare your accounts and returns, nothing gets lost between your bookkeeper and your accountant.
Accurate records. Current figures. No shoebox of receipts.
Always up to date
Your figures reconciled regularly, so you can see your real position at any time.
Less admin for you
Bank feeds and receipt apps do the heavy lifting; we do the rest.
Ready for Making Tax Digital

I'm months behind with my bookkeeping. Can you help?
Yes. Catch-up bookkeeping is one of the most common things we're asked for, and there's no judgement. We'll gather your bank statements, invoices and receipts, bring your records up to date in cloud software and reconcile everything properly. Once you're current, we can keep your books up to date so it doesn't happen again, and prepare your accounts or tax return from records you can trust.
Which bookkeeping software do you work with?
We work with Xero, QuickBooks and FreeAgent. If you're not using any software yet, we'll help you choose the one that suits your business and set it up for you, including bank feeds and categories. If you're using spreadsheets or a different package, we can move your records across and carry your balances forward accurately.
Do I need digital records for Making Tax Digital?
If you're a sole trader or landlord, Making Tax Digital for Income Tax is mandatory from 6 April 2026 if your combined gross self-employment and property income is over £50,000, then over £30,000 from April 2027 and over £20,000 from April 2028. You'll need digital records and quarterly updates to HMRC. We'll make sure your bookkeeping is set up to meet the rules.
How do receipt capture apps work?
You take a photo of a receipt or forward a bill by email, and the app reads the key details — supplier, date, amount and VAT — and sends them into your bookkeeping software. We then match it to the payment in your bank feed. It means no more shoeboxes of paper, fewer missed expenses and a clear digital record if HMRC ever asks.
Will you tell me when I need to register for VAT?
Yes. Because we keep your books up to date, we can watch your taxable turnover as it builds. You must register for VAT if your taxable turnover over any rolling 12-month period goes over £90,000. We'll flag it well before you get close, explain your options and handle the registration and returns if you need them.
